  Group's Objectives

      Responding to the dramatic changes in the competitive landscape following Taiwan’s accession to the World Trade Organization, Panasonic Taiwan, thoroughly reorganized its manufacturing, research and development, and sales operations.

     
Product Development --- We focuses on developing and implementing next-generation strategic technologies essential to our ability to provide technical support to Panasonic Taiwan’s Xiamen manufacturing facility, the Panasonic Group in China, as well as other Asian subsidiaries of the Panasonic Group.

    Production --- We have deployed the most advanced technology, facilities, and methodologies to our production operations.  Examples of production initiatives include recent installation of 3D opto-electronic prototyping equipment, implementation of a parcelized system of production, expansion of major home appliance production, and a focus on expanding our line of automotive electronics through investment in product research, production improvements, and marketing.  We have also recently added PDP and ALIVH - Multilayer PCB products.

  Panasonic Manufacturing Xiamen Company(PMX) is Panasonic Taiwan’s production subsidiary in China. In addition to developing, manufacturing, and marketing products autonomously, the company is working aggressively toward becoming a model production facility within Panasonic’s Greater China operations.


  PMX operates two plants -- at Xiamen’s Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and in Mashang.

      In 1992, Panasonic Taiwan established Taiwan's first fully-dedicated electric appliance service company --- the Panasonic Technical Service Taiwan Co., Ltd. (PTST). The company operates on the principals of the "3Qs" of quality, quickness (speed), and quest (innovation). PTST employs the most reliable service technologies to provide customers the best professional service and to realize our goal to give back to society. Product Service Centers, Customer Consultation Centers, and around 400 contracted service stations --- all supported by dedicated repair workshops --- are located throughout Taiwan and on the offshore island of Kinmen. These provide all the services necessary to repair products and to ensure our customers remain satisfied. PTST helps us maintain our core commitment to keep "customer satisfaction No.1" our foremost priority.

  Research and Development

      To improve the lives of customers through superior appliances, Matsushita Electric (Taiwan) ceaselessly promotes R&D. We assemble the strongest teams to engage in R&D for new techniques and new products. This provides us with our greatest gifts for our society.

    
 We separate our technical R&D structure into three varieties.
•General R&D : This is carried out at our R&D Center. It includes internally-developed products, intermediate product development, and the exploration of new formats and vital technologies.
•Merchandise Products R&D: This is carried out by individual technical departments strongly focused on product innovation.
•Facility & Equipment R&D: This is the objective of develop automated production technology and related special products.

    
 Of more than 600 engineers in our company, no less than 500 are full-time R&D specialists; the budget for their great efforts is equal to 3.3% of our total sales volume. 1990

•lmplemenation of the unification of the operating system between production
    and sales in order to operate the production and sales of the box-type
    refrigerator plant at Taoyuan and the laundry washing machine plant. Opening
    of the Taoyuna Business Area where air-conditioning, cooking and motor
     products were produced.

1991

 •Production and sales of Karaoke and video cassette tape equipments.

1992

•Exported washing machines and 15-inch color monitors to Japan. Manufacture
     and sales of smoke exhaust machines.

1993

•Reached the target of manufacture and sales for video tape recorders of 500
     thousands units, refrigerator of 2 million units and radio recorders of 50 million
  units.

1994

•Developed independently LED Display (Light Emitting Diode) during
     operation.. Manufacture and sale of 3DO Interactive Multimedia players,
     toilet seats, as well as Cable TV broadcasting and peripheral equipment
     Exported refrigerators to Japan. Reached the target of manufacture and sales
     for jet fans of 10 million units, car stereos of 5 million units and loudspeakers
     of 200 million units.

1995

•We set a new record with motor production and sales in excess of 30 million
     units. In addition, more than 600,000 blenders were manufactured and sold.

1996

•Our car stereo line achieved a fully integrated production and sales system.
     personal stereo model RQ-SW20 received the prestigious National Product
     Image Silver Award Production and sale of Car Navigation System, Tableware
     Dryer, Dehumidifier. Unify the production and sales of Car Audio. Export
     Video Tape Recorders to Thailand.
     New building opened to house Taiwan Matsushita Technical Service Company .

1997

•Production and sale of video printer, digital video disc. Received the

1998

•7 products received the right to employ the Taiwan Excellence Symbol for
    Refrigerators, Washing Machine, Headphone Stereo, Micro Wave Oven,
    Video Tape Recorders, CTV, split type Air Conditioner. Received the CED
     Good Function Design Award for Refrigerators.

1999

•Reached the target of manufacture and sales for car audio 10million units.
    Refrigerators, Washing Machine, Headphone Stereo , received the right to
     employ the Taiwan Excellence Symbol. Video info CTV received the CED
     golden quality award & good shape design award. Produce & sales the True
      Flat CTV "Tau".

2000

•True Flat CTV TC-29TF12 received the CED golden quality award and good
     shape design award. The goal to produce and distribute 2 million color
     television sets was achieved.
     Named as Excellent Foreign Company for the Year 2000, received the Industry
     Elite Award, and Environmental Management Constant Improvement
      Performance Award. General Manger Obayashi assumed office.
      NPST - National Panasonic Sales (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. was established.

2001

•Air conditioner commercial won the Golden Bells Award, formed a strategic
     alliance with the Directorate General of Customs, integrated our manufacturing
     bases (Taoyuan → Chungho), the Taiwan Matsushita Newsletter started
      publication.

2002

•Commencement of product sales over the Internet (April); Dehumidifier and
     refrigerator products approved for ROC energy conservation mark;
    Four products (television, DVD player, refrigerator, and washing machine)
    earn Taiwan's "Symbol of Excellence" mark; 40th anniversary of Taiwan
    Matsushita celebrated; 40 th anniversary product series launched,
